I'm the founder of The K9 Mindset Academy.
I’ve helped countless Fraser Valley families transform their relationship with their dogs, especially those struggling with anxiety, overexcitement, or difficult pasts. What I’ve learned is this: obedience alone isn’t enough. True change comes when a dog learns to regulate their emotions. Once calmness is in place, everything else (obedience, recall, manners) falls into line.
At K9MA, there is no “one size fits all.” Every program is customized to your lifestyle and your dog’s mental, physical, and emotional health. We start with positive reinforcement, then build structure using proven methods of operant conditioning. What we never use is fear, pain, or intimidation.
My role is to guide you in clear, safe communication with your dog, including how to use tools like prongs or e-collars responsibly, if they’re right for your dog. The goal isn’t just training, it’s a healthier, calmer, more connected relationship.

No. I know it's hard, but visits disrupt progress. You’ll receive daily updates so you’re never left wondering
What if my dog is aggressive?
We do not take in dog's with aggression or separation anxiety. We will refer you to private training sessions.
Do I need to keep training after the program?
Yes. The go-home lesson ensures you know exactly how to continue reinforcing progress. You will only see progress if you make lasting habit changes to your lifestyle.
What if I already own the tools?
We include professional-grade tools for consistency and safety. Exceptions can be discussed in advance.
